Frequently asked questions
About the Image Resizer
Every platform asks for different dimensions: a LinkedIn banner, a YouTube thumbnail, a passport photo, a product listing. The Image Resizer changes the pixel width and height of an image so it fits exactly what the destination expects.
Resizing happens locally in your browser, so the image stays on your device.
How to use it
- Upload your image. The original dimensions are shown.
- Enter a new width or height. With the aspect-ratio lock on, the other value follows automatically.
- Check the preview, then download the resized image.
Common uses
- Preparing images at the exact size a form, template or social network requires.
- Shrinking oversized camera photos before sharing or uploading.
- Making consistent thumbnails for a gallery or catalogue.
Tips for better results
- Keep the aspect-ratio lock on unless you really want to stretch the picture. Distorted proportions are the most common resizing mistake.
- Scaling down looks clean. Scaling up cannot add detail, so enlarged images appear blurry.
- For the smallest file, resize first, then run the result through the Image Compressor.
Good to know
- The tool changes dimensions only. It does not crop to a different shape, so crop in a photo editor if you need a new aspect ratio.
- Very large images may take a moment on older phones because the work happens on your device.
