About the Text Case Converter
Retyping a headline in capitals, or renaming a variable from one style to another, is tedious and error-prone. The Text Case Converter changes text between UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE in a click.
It runs in your browser and does not store anything you paste.
How to use it
- Paste your text into the input box.
- Choose the case style you want.
- Copy the converted output.
Common uses
- Fixing text that was accidentally typed with Caps Lock on.
- Formatting headings in Title Case for articles and slides.
- Converting names between code conventions, such as user name to user_name or userName.
Tips for better results
- Use kebab-case for URLs and file names, snake_case for Python and database columns, and camelCase for JavaScript variables.
- Title Case here capitalises every word. Style guides often keep small words such as of and the in lowercase, so review headings by hand.
- Programming cases split on spaces, dashes and underscores, so you can convert from one code style directly to another.
Good to know
- Proper nouns, acronyms and brand names are not recognised, so a name such as iPhone may need manual correction.
- Sentence case uses punctuation to find sentence starts and may need a quick check after abbreviations.
